Baked Lemon Garlic Fish is a bright and buttery seafood dinner made with tender white fish, fresh lemon, garlic, and parsley. Ready in just 20 minutes, it’s perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 garlic cloves, finely minced
1 fresh lemon
1 1/2 pounds white fish fillets (such as cod, haddock, snapper, or sole)
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
2. In a small skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Finely grate the zest from the lemon and stir it into the melted butter. Remove from heat.
4. Slice the lemon into thin rounds and arrange them in a single layer on the bottom of a baking dish.
5. Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides evenly with salt and pepper.
6. Place the fish on top of the lemon slices. Spoon the lemon garlic butter evenly over each fillet.
7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
8. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Use fresh white fish for best results.
Do not overcook to maintain moisture.
Serve immediately with vegetables, rice, or potatoes.
