Description
Creamy Chicken Skillet is a rich and comforting stovetop dinner featuring golden seared chicken cutlets simmered in a velvety garlic cream sauce.
Ingredients
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.3 pounds total), sliced into 4 thin cutlets
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
1 whole garlic bulb (8–9 cloves), peeled and lightly crushed
1 cup chicken broth
3/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Additional salt and black pepper, to taste
Fresh chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Slice each chicken breast horizontally to create two thin cutlets.
2. Season both sides with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
3. Lightly coat each piece with flour.
4. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium heat.
5. Cook chicken about 4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and keep warm.
6. Add remaining butter and crushed garlic. Sauté 3 minutes.
7. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Add garlic powder and scrape browned bits.
8. Simmer 8–10 minutes until reduced by half.
9. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
10. Return chicken to skillet and spoon sauce over top. Simmer briefly and garnish with parsley.
Notes
Use gluten-free flour if needed.
Do not boil the sauce aggressively to prevent separation.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
