Description

Easy skillet pasta made with ground beef, tomato sauce, tender pasta, and melted mozzarella cheese, all cooked in one pan for a comforting weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 jar (24–26 ounces) tomato-based spaghetti sauce

2 cups water

1 tablespoon Italian seasoning blend

3 cups uncooked pasta (penne or rotini)

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.

2. Stir in the spaghetti sauce, water, and Italian seasoning. Bring the mixture to a boil.

3. Add the uncooked pasta and stir well to combine. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.

4. Stir in 1 cup of mozzarella and the Parmesan cheese until melted and combined.

5. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella on top. Cover and let stand 5 minutes until cheese is melted before serving.

Notes

Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Add vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for variation.

Reheat with a splash of water to restore sauce consistency.
