Description
A creamy, flavorful tuna sandwich made with tender tuna, crisp vegetables, and mayonnaise. This quick no-cook meal is perfect for lunch or an easy dinner and comes together in just 10 minutes.
Ingredients
15 ounces canned tuna packed in oil, drained
3/4 cup whole egg mayonnaise
3/4 cup finely diced celery (about 1 stalk)
5 tablespoons finely chopped dill pickles
2 tablespoons pickle juice
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh dill (or parsley)
1/3 cup thinly sliced green onions (about 2 stems)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
8 leaves butter lettuce
4 tablespoons butter, softened
8 slices sandwich bread or 4 sandwich rolls
Instructions
1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, diced celery, chopped pickles, pickle juice, Dijon mustard, fresh dill, sliced green onions, and black pepper.
2. Stir well with a spoon while gently breaking apart the tuna until the mixture becomes creamy and evenly combined.
3. Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
4. Place two lettuce leaves on four slices of bread.
5. Divide the tuna mixture evenly among the sandwiches.
6. Top with the remaining bread slices and press lightly.
7. Serve immediately and enjoy.
Notes
Use tuna packed in oil for the best flavor and texture.
For extra brightness, add a small squeeze of lemon juice.
The tuna filling can be prepared ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
