Ingredients

For the Wontons:

8 ounces ground chicken or ground turkey

2 green onions, finely chopped

1 teaspoon low-sodium soy sauce

1 teaspoon oyster-flavored sauce substitute (mushroom-based if needed)

½ teaspoon sesame oil

¼ teaspoon white pepper

1 package wonton wrappers
For the Soup:

8 cups low-sodium chicken broth (boneless-based)

1-inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced

2 green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces

2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

Salt, to taste

Instructions

In a bowl, mix ground chicken (or turkey), finely chopped green onions, soy sauce, oyster-flavored sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper until well combined.

Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Lightly moisten the edges with water, fold into a triangle, and press to seal. Optionally, bring the two bottom corners together and pinch to seal tightly. Repeat for all wrappers.

In a large pot, bring chicken broth to a boil with sliced ginger and green onion segments.

Gently add the prepared wontons to the boiling broth. Cook for about 5 minutes or until wontons float and are cooked through.

Remove the ginger and green onion pieces. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, and adjust salt to taste.

Serve hot. Garnish with extra chopped green onions or fresh herbs, if desired.
